Postgraduate Diploma in Social Development Practice

offered by
The Development School

validated by the
University of North London, UK

The Development School is a British-registered NGO1 set up by an international group of development practitioners and academics to build effective social development practice (working with organisations, groups and communities through social change processes).

This innovative postgraduate programme is for people working in social development fields in the nonprofit and public sectors (for example, community social workers, organisational development specialists, community development workers, facilitators, consultants). It will offer these practitioners the opportunity to improve their abilities to design and facilitate effective change and development processes for organisations, communities and other social groupings.

The first two programmes are being run in Hungary/Slovakia and Romania/Bulgaria with partner agencies in each country. In Hungary the partner is the Partners Hungary Foundation working in the fields of conflict management, cooperative planning, community- and organization development and change management.

This programme is not a typical academic postgraduate course. It requires a high level of commitment from students which is more than time. The programme is designed for people who are open to critical reflection on their work; who are prepared to share their experiences at a profound level with colleagues and who are committed to their own personal development.

  • Selection will be carried out by an international team (the core tutors)
  • Residential blocks will be held in one of the two countries in which the programme is running
